Looking for a nice vid/audio desk

Currently I'm looking at an Omnirax F2

Does anyone know of something comparable to this that can be purchased in the Southern California area? Any links?

TIA

Omnirax is WAY overpriced for what you get. There's $100-200 worth of material in their $1000+ desks.

Go to IKEA and buy yourself one of these:

Thank you for the suggestion but that's not really what I'm looking for. I agree with you that the Omnirax stuff is way overpriced for just a bunch of pressboard but I really like the way the F2 desk looks. I need something to put outboard effects etc in. i.e. 19in rails.

Persoanlly I'm becoming somewhat frustrated. I've been out pricing different studio desks and it's incredible what kind of prices people want.

I'm still looking for other suggestions. Possibly any ideas of studios closing and selling their stuff at auction?

I actually work as a designer for a well known US furniture company and am aware of the lack of affordable recording studio furniture out there.

Although I cannot help you right now, if I have my way and convince upper managment, you will be able to get what you want for a decent price in the near future.

What would help me is if you could go into more detail as far as what your needs are.

Have you ever considered building your own desk? It may be a bit of hard work, but it could save you a lot of money in the end. Plus, you'll get the *exact* desk that you want out of it. My friend works with his father in a woodworking shop, so him and I are building me a nice audio workstation desk that's suprisingly similar to that Omnirax one that you like. If you've got access to the materials and tools, and if you've got the patience for it, i'd highly recommend building one yourself!

Buy the original Bush version if you're gonna buy that. StudioRTA is cheap knock off stuff made in China. At least Bush products are still made here in the US...
