Power and Signal Cables

I am installing a pair of powered speakers. I need to run power and balanced signal 40 feet across a wall to my right channel speaker. Is it ok to tie these cables together for the run? Will the power cable introduce noise onto the signal cable? The signal is balanced XLR.

It most likely won't be a problem, but it is better to separate the power and the signal cables if at all possible to avoid hum.

It's done often with no trouble. You can even get "Hybrid" cables that gave AC and signal in a single jacket (Meyer, CBI, LinkUSA, LexProducts, and perhaps others).
