Smile Panel Fabrics Anyone?

Hello to all.

I am finishing up my new drum/tracking room and am about to buy all the materials needed for several acoustic panels. I will be going with the 2" Roxul Rockboard 60 for both ceiling and wall panels. I have the framing in mind but my real question is:

Does anyone have any input to the type of fabric which should be used?

I know Burlap has been suggested, and, in general, any open weave would work, but I also read somewhere that Muslin works well too. Other then burlap, does anything else come to mind that you have a good experience with? Has anyone used Muslin?

I remember Audiodude's mention of trying to blow a puff of air through the fabric. The easier it is, the better the material will be for this application. Good advice, but terribly silly looking when in Wal-Mart or JoAnns Fabrics blowing through fabric. I think I would rather go on advice and run in, buy, and run out!

Overall, I am trying to save a little cash. But I also want to use a fabric that looks nice and might have a broader color choice than most of the burlap I am finding. Obviously, the wife wants in on this as well. I would also like to limit my demasculating outings to my local "JoAnns".

Thanks, Steve

hey Steve...just walk over to the computer section in Wallyworld first, pick up a can of that canned air (keyboard duster), then go over to the fabric section and use it on the material...hehe

I actually just held the stuff up to the light to see how much light passes through, about the same difference with out having to take an inhaler with me *smile*
