I'm hiring mine when it comes time. Of course, I've got a friend who does it for a living... He can do in one day, what it takes me a week to do. Even if I only count my labor at $5 an hour, and his at $50, I *still* come out ahead, 'cause his days aren't even 8 hours long, while mine exceed 12... And his finished work looks way better than mine. Of course, he kind of looked at me sideways at first, when I was describing to him some necessary construction techniques in a sound room... lol, but then he "heard" the reasoning...

Congrats on the 1st coat of mud. That, in my book, is the most difficult. From here-on, it's more a game of patience, and not trying to "work it" too much... lolol (another reason why I hire it out, anymore). Face mask and head covering needed from here, unless you like limestone in your internals... lol |;^)

I thought hanging 12' sheets of 5/8" rock on a cathedral ceiling was a nightmare until I was hired to hang this stuff......

http://www.quietsolution.com/html/quietrock_thx.html

....At 1 3/8" thick and a 180lbs I was forced to redefine nightmare when it comes to hanging rock.

I got a couple sheets of that stuff around my vocal booth, but....12 feet in the air, no way jose'....literally outweighed the installer.

Hanging sheetrock is bad, but I hate laying tile worse.

I blew out both my kneecaps putting down tile in my last house getting ready to sell it. Now it feels like kneeling in ground glass any time I have to crawl under my equipment to hook anything up.
