Pitch Shift Software
I searched the archives and I'm more confused now than when I started so I'll ask this question here.
I'm looking for a simple and cheap software that changes the pitch of a song. I don't care if it has any other capabilities - just the pitch shift. I should probably rephrase that - I know I'll get a lot more capabilities than just the pitch shift but that's really the only one I'm interested in. Could anyone point me in a better direction than I'm currently going? Thanks Much, Joe |

Could you tell us what software you have now? In which 'player' do you want the pitch shifted?
Can you handle plugins like DX or VST?

Not sure I understand - I don't have any software. I just want to buy some software program that will allow me to change the pitch of some accompaniment cd's. I can get them into an mp3 format with MusicMatch I think and then I wanted to change the pitch and keep the mp3 format.
I'm sorry - I don't know much about this stuff. I had AudioEdit Deluxe at one time before a hard drive crash and I can't remember if it changes the pitch or not. I'd have to buy it again they said and they were'nt clear on whether their program would do the pitch change. They list a bunch of stuff but pitch change isn't one of them. I also don't know anything about plugins - I really just want to buy one cheap software program that will change the key of a song. I won't be creating anything more fancy than that. Does that shed any light at all? I'm really a nube. Joe |

Almost - but I don't want to slow them down - I want the same tempo with a different pitch.

But you need a 'VST host' to host the plugin; like cubase, logic, or some free host. Look at www.KVRaudio.com for free hosts, there are some of them.
