Audio Specturm

Hey, This is my first post here, and I hope someone can help me out.
I am looking for something like this.

I want monitor output from itunes, games, etc because I have dual monitors on my computer, so I guess it needs to be stand-alone. I am using Windows.

I want it to be something basic like the one in foobar2000 (picture).

And, hopefully it's free, if not I will look at it if you send me a link.

And also, what is the proper name for something like this.

Thanks guys.

That is a Real Time analyser Display and there is one in the current version of Windows Media Player.

Most audio sequencer software has such (aka DAW) there is a pretty good one in Samplitude but I think most are Plugins. Can't remember if Audacity has one, will go check.

Real Player could be good but I avoid it like the plague because of its tentacular ambitions to take over the pc world!

Before the days of iPlayer I used RealAlt to listen to BBC radio.

Frequency spectrum of analog or digital signals are various frequencies those spread around center frequency. Eg. for analog: AM (Amplitude Modulation) signal consists spectrum of carrier
frequency, USB & LSB frequencies. Bass audio frequency signal consists spectrum of 40-960Hz, treble AF signal of 1-16KHz. Eg. for digital: 1 Word consists spectrum of 2 Bytes, 1 Bytes consists
spectrum of 8 bits, fibre optic communication consists spectrum of all visible light colours, all used to transmit different information.
Thank you very much Akshay.
