One of my current projects: conference room control
here is my conference room control booth in one of our conference rooms.
the origional set up included a tall equipment rack with a mackie cr16 channel and a couple of rane peqs. the amplifier is a crown comtech 200 and a 8 speaker 70 volt distrubuted system set in mono mode. since the room is long and narrow, there was a lot of feed back with having 8 open microphones on the conference table. i tore the whole system out and started from scratch. the bench was constructed from two excess computer racks that came fro our server farm. i cut them each in half and replace the tops then used the remaning rails to tie the two racks together. i replaced the mixer with a soundcraft GB2 16 channel and routed the group outs 1 and 2 to the main amplifier as seperate channels. then split the 8 speakers into two groups, one group of 4 to in the front of the room and one group of 4 in the rear. now when i have 8 microphones, i simply assign the forward microphones to the rear group of speakers and the rear group of microphones to the front speakers. this cross design allows far better feedback to signal ratios and lets me have more gain in the overall system.

Looks like a government meeting. More people than needed and several "board-to-tears" looking people.
