I carry a ten foot piece of 16 guage stranded wire with alligator clips on each end. Simply attach one end to a metal part of the guitar amp chasis and the other end to the metal tab on my surge protector. That grounds the amp.

Takes about a second.. Plug the guitar into the surge protector.
