Hello all -

I'll make this simple. Finally I have some decent studio equipment, but not with the "latest and greatest" as this is a part-time thing.

I am a Mac user, still in OS9.2 until I have time for OSX. G4 with older Logic Audio Platinum 4.8. Have been using M-Audio 2496 PCI card for simple audio and MIDI I/O needs.

I now have MOTU 828mkii (Firewire) in order to do some transfers from old multitrack cassette tapes; for live multitracking experiments of real drums and for other things, etc. and I know "going in" that MIDI on that device is ONLY meant for OSX.

So, my question to all of you is: do ya think I'll still be able to use the MIDI I/O on the Audiophile 2496 PCI-based interface in conjunction with my 2408mkii FireWire-based interface? The concern is that of syncing ... For example, generating a click from Logic Audio that the drummer would hear, and having his mics eventually going thru the MOTU. Would they be in sync, or wouldn't they?

If not, what is/are the ideal solution(s)?

Also, is it even possible to still utilize my the AUDIO I/O of the Audiophile in conjunction with the MOTU?

I do have an inquiry in to MOTU about this, but I want to hear it from some real users out there.

Thanks a bunch!
