I just got Cool edit pro (i used to have it a few years ago and it worked fine then).

WHen i record for instance a guitar track, the wav file repeats in certain places, its hard to explain... just little repeats in what i played.

Now i looked it up on yahoo and it said this error was related to disk space, well i have 5 gigs free... i dont know the problem.

It took me 85 takes of a guitar solo to make it not repeat.

Any patches or anything for this annoying bug?

I tried N-track, similar problem too however not as frequent.

Is it possible you need to defrag your disk? Just a thought.

If it does the same thing with N-Track, then it's an issue with your OS or hardware. If you've optimized for Audio, this can be less of a problem.

What's your OS, and have you done any optimizations for Audio?

Do you have more than one physical hard drive? Your read/write head is probably trying to do too much at once.

Unlikely, but it could be an issue with IDE or Busmastering drivers.

I had this problem for a while myself and managed to solve it - as I recall, it was due to having reduced the play and record buffers too much. I think it was the number of play buffers in particular which was the problem (which is odd considering it's a recording issue), but my recommendation would be to go to settings (F4) then the multitrack tab and experiment with increasing the buffer numbers/size. Good luck!
