I use a 2 roomed granny flat under my house as a studio. Up till now have just made do with no modifications. One room is concrete with large matts on the floor (control) the other is carpeted with wooden door with a convenient see through glass panel dividing the rooms. Sound proofing is not an issue as I rarely hear any outside noise and neighbours are too far away to hear me.
But in an effort to make the tracking room more appealing sound -wise I was wondering if floating timber floors would be the solution. Recently saw these on television (kind of a do-it-yourself renovators program) and as well as looking great and giving the the place a more slick professional look- I hopethey should improve the "sound"of the room??
Also this room has brick walls. Any suggestions about what to do there- - wood panelling maybe or accoustic foam.
The purpose is to a. make the place look a bit more like a studio and b. to improve the overall sound of my recordings.
Can get this stuuf at the right price too as my Uncle owns a carpet franchise store and they have a line of floating timber floor type products.
