Posted this in plug-ins, but I see it really belongs here -
Regarding VSTi and FruityLoops 3.4 full:
If I have a VSTi on a channel with a piano roll sequence, it's easy enough to change it to another VSTi by clicking on the "open file" icon on the top left corner of the plug-in window, which will bring up my plug-in list.
And it's easy enough to start a new VSTi channel by going to channels and adding one more.
But what if I have a piano-rolled channel with say, WASP or SimSynth and I want to change to a VSTi instrument. On the top left of the plug-in window, there is only the little red wave-form icon that allows you to access the piano roll, presets, link to controller, etc. There is no "open file" icon. Is this because they are demos?
Also, same question for midi and sampler channels. Can I change these to a VSTi? If I want to assign WASP to a midi channel, I just right-click one of the fx presets in the explorer menu on the left side of the screen. But my VSTi's do not appear here.
Hopefully this makes sense...
