I've been using Acid 4 and Sound Forge 6 to produce loop-based ectronic music. I would like to expand the source of my sounds (ie, make my own bass loops, beat loops, synth loops, etc. by using midi controllers to record alongside other loops in Acid)

Here's what I heard so far:
Get Reason because:
-sounds better than FL
-Acid now has Rewire
-Reason has Redrum. FL does not have a full drum machine

Get FL because:
-learing curve is steep for someone that makes loop-based music
-does not need rewire to work in Acid
-easier to produce loops than in Reason

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey,

My suggestion is download both demos and try them for yourself to see which one suits you better. THey both have their pluses and minuses.

as for drum machines... to me those things r out-datede now hell why get em when there r so many drum samples out there that u can further tweak yourself and save yourself some extra cpu for ur final production......

i would say if u have the money get em both but if u can only get then get fl studio

true reason has better sounds than fl studio but then again it cannot use vsti or dxi based synths so it means u'll have to refills for those things and God help u on that.... besides i do not think u can do vocals in reason yet so if u wanna do a full production then fl studio as it offers more options but there is a reason 3 out now and well i do not have any money to go buy it and i do not feel to even try the demo

but like i said b4 if u got the cash get em both but if it's one or the other then get fl studio
