Hello everyone I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions of mine about buying a keyboard for my home studio.

Here is my predicament.

I am looking into buying a keyboard that I can compose songs on the computer with. I have been looking everywhere the last few days for ways to do this cheaply. Is there anyway I can do this for under $100? The main thing is... I can speak english, not technical musician laguage.

In english I want a cheap keyboard that connects directally to my computer for under $100

My friend says he will loan me the software I need. She has the program 'Reason'.

By searching the internet another question came up. Is there anyway I can compose effectivly without using a keyboard?

Any help is very much appreciated,

-A Very Confused Musician

Dear Confused,

Not to sound like an a**, but why don't you try *buying* the software instead of borrowing it from a friend?

You won't find much help on these forums when you blatantly admit that you're going to pirate software.

If you're not willing to buy it, then why don't you just ask your *friend* instead of soliciting the help of legitimate users?

I'm not ssaying he should pirate the software but he does have the right idea of wanting to try and experiment w/ the new dimension of his musical life before what may be chump change to you, but a damn lot to him. What if he was unfortunate enough to go to guitar center or a place like that and get duped into thinking he couldn't make music w/o dropping g's.

But back to the person with the 1st ?. Get any keyboard it will sound the same through midi.It will play differently but sound the same. Download a trial version of Reason (Reason is only 300, and it's worth it. Considering the range it gives you, try doing what it can w/ any traditional sequencer @ that price range.) (buy an academic vers if you qualify)

TOTALLY! i got Ozone...same diff. And tell you the truth, you won't find a decent keyboard (that hooks to your computer) for less than $100. I advise you to save up more so you can at least afford something decent enought to play. Mine was $350. I love the lil bastard.

Umm, yeah. same goes for software too i guess..

sometimes you gotta spend money to make money. lol.

And I rreeeeeeally don't think you should start with Reason if you are a newbie to recording. It's a fairly difficult program to work at first (at even more difficulty if you are new to it all). I started out with simple programs and progessed to harder ones. I advise you do that. Get to know the basics first.

Try home studio 2004xl, 149 usd (cakewalk stuff).
any midi keyboard will do, midi in, midi out (wax on wax off),
you are soon to be another inocent victim to fall into the
