Sound Server

Hi!
i am new to this forum and so i hope you will forgive me if this is not the type of query that you discuss here.
i am looking for information relating to the procedure for installing multiple sound cards in a PC. what i want to do is creat a sound/MP3 server that can output multiple channels of sound all eminating from the one PC to different areas of my house. does anyone know how to do this?

Seems like you'd be better off using a single multi-channel interface than trying to load down your PCI buss with a bunch of sound blasters. Maybe even not PCI at all, but something like a MOTU 828, which connects via firewire and has 8 channels onboard (4x stereo pairs) and ADAT connection for another 8. You could hook up multiple sets of those up to the limits of your hardward & software. And it should be at least as easy to assign sources to outputs once you figure out the software solution. That part, I'm not sure of - in fact, it's reminded me of something I've been mulling over that I may have to post here too!
