Getting into it...

Hey, I hope it's ok to ask this type of question here... if not, sorry!

I currently work on computer games as a freelancer doing music/sfx/vo but the development times are long. I'd like to fill the slow and in between times with spot production. I have no idea how to get started in this area though. Do I need to contact local businesses directly to find work or should I contact Ad agencies? Do most Radio stations produce the spots for thier clients or do the clients provide the spots to the station?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Most radio stations produce their own commercials for the exception of agency spots...those are the big boys and they pay big bucks for them...however they produce the spots them selves...they just hire people for the voice and go to the bigger production houses to have them produced...good luck.
