Ditto on the Intel chipset. Good that you are considering a laptop that doesn't use shared memory for graphics processing either. Check out the RME Audio Web site's Technical Support section and you'll find a wealth of information on what to look for in a laptop to use with their Hammerfall DSP interfaces. The only other thing you need to investigate is whether the laptops you are considering use a Ricoh or Texas Instruments PCMCIA controller. RME Audio strongly recommends against using a laptop with a Ricoh PCMCIA controller. It just won't work.

I am going to buy an RME Multiface. I have already seen the RME Tech Info but it is not updated about new chipsets.
Thanks for the PCMCIA trick.

so Toshiba it is in my neighborhood.......
.....re Dell: my friend at work just ordered a Dell (also lauded on the RME site) & the speakers were delivered to him & he signed a paper...he's been waiting 10 days now as the paper he signed said he'd received the entire PC!....poor guy didn't read the fine print....waiting for the delivery guy to come clean (London (central), UK)....I say get over to the store & bargain instead of wasting time on delivery....toshiba, eh?...ok....I agree....I'm gettin the multiface also....
