I am using CWPA 9.03 with a Midiman Midisport USB 2x2 midi interface, a Motu 2048 mkII audio interface, and a SB Live. When I use one of the midi out channels to start my drum machine and record the audio out of the drum machine, I get the dreaded stutter/pop/click syndrome. The problem does not occur if this is the one and only track of audio in the project, but only if there are two or three other audio tracks already recorded. And it only seems to happen when using the Midisport midi channel to start the device whose audio output is being recorded. Furthermore it only seems to be a problem when using the combination of the Midisport and the Motu. Other combinations (Motu and SB Live midi, SB Live Audio and Midisport) do not exhibit this problem. I have the most recent drivers of everything as far as I know. The rest of my setup is: P3 450Mhz, 256M, (2) Maxtor Diamond Plus 7200RMM drive with one of the drives only used for audio, Abit Be6 motherboard (not using the HPT controller). I have tried many different latency settings, I/O buffers sizes, etc. but nothing helps. All background processes are shutdown, so that only Cakewalk, Explorer, and Systray are running. Should also mention that I have managed to get each of the devices on their own dedicated IRQ's, so that should not be a problem. This is a real stumper. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
