I have DP 3.0, audiodesk 1.02, a dual 800 G4 (OS 9.2.1, firewire 2.1.4) with 1.2 Gig ram, a QPS que M3 firewire hard drive (7200 rpm with western digital WD600BB, ? bridge), MOTU 828 and a Ti powerbook G4 400. I have been trying to get DP/audiodesk to record and play to a firewire drive. On the powerbook I can record and playback tracks in audiodesk and DP3. This is running OS 9.1(firewire 2.8.1) and all works fine. When I try the same set up on my Dual 800 I am able to record tracks to the firewire drive but every time I try to play one of them back the program freezes. It also freezes when I try to load the files as soundbites. When I force quit DP or audiodesk I get a type 3 error message. I have no problems recording/playing back from my internal drives (SCSI with adaptec controller 29160N) only with the firewire drive. I have tried many combinations of extensions looking for a conflict but to no avail. I have tried using the firewire extensions from my laptop also with no success. This leads me to believe that the problem lies within DP3/audiodesk and the way it accesses the firewire drive on a dual 800 machine or with OS 9.2.1.
Has any one got this or a similar setup to work on Dual 800 G4?

There have been a few posts on the Yahoo DP group to the effect that there is a bug on 9.2.1 to do with audio and firewire drives, especially on dual processor machines. Suggest you try 9.1 which should run ok.
