I just got a Mackie 1604 and a MOTU 2408. I want to be able to record my drums through my Macintosh Power G4. I also purchased all the correct leads I was told I would require for doing so. (mic cables etc). I also have all the required mics (Shure SM57's)
The Software I am using is digital performer 2.7.
I have never setup any sort of equipment like this before.
The furthest I have got is installing DP and the Motu audio card and software.
The question I ask you is.......now what????????
I basically need to know what plugs in where. I know that I need to connect the mackie to the motu then the motu to my motu audio card in the back of the mac. What cables do I plug into what slots? Once that is rigged up what setup settings do I need to do for my software so I can start recording. have I missed anything?
Any instance that you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated. I have never done this before and need all the help I can get. If you could reccomend any sites or maybe another forum that is more related to my topic that would be wonderful.
