I'm strongly considering the DD 001. Does someone know the analogous MOTU equipment and any comparisons? Greatly interested.

First of all Motu AD/DA sound better then 001, plus if you need to use the Preamps on 001 they suck ( after reading many reviews ). If you want to use Pro Tools software then only 001 will work with it, no other manufacture is supported by DD except their own hardware. The next upgrade is about 5K- 10K, so take this to your consideration. As mentioned in this forum many times, choose your software first then go for the hardware. Personally I'm a Motu guy, I just bought 1224 to go with my G4 SCSI set up, and now waiting for my Digital Performer 3.0 to arrive. IF you're doing a lot of MIDI then Pro Tools won't work for you, at least till they can catch up with DP, Logic or Cubase. But if you're doing audio mostly then there is nothing better and easier to use then PT. You can always use 001 with other software, but it's not that stable.
