Hi,
Sometimes when I hook our Panasonic 3700 dat spdif out to spdif in 1 of our MOTU 2408, I get a pinned meter on the record input meter of Vegas Pro. By messing around in the PCI 324 console enogh, it usually clears the problem. I notice that the front panel series of 3 lights isn't solid green in this state, but blinking. I must be missing something here. I have the 2408 set to spdif input, enabled on bank C and the sample rate set to 44.1. I also have spdif 1 selected in the output source box. The clock source is set at 2408 spdif to get it's clock from the dat. What am I doing wrong?
A couple of things I don't quite get are what exactly does output source mean and why does monitor outputs do? I appreciate any help you can give.

Um. Do you have Enable Routing checked in the PCI-324 Control Panel? I suggest you don't, then you won't have to worry about 'Output Source'. I think you might be creating a loop with it set to SPDIF.

The monitor out's represent what you are listening to from the 2408's monitor ouputs - i.e. either the mix outs or outputs 1 and 2. So any input to the 2408 can be monitored (i.e. heard) from those outputs. With Enable Routing switched off all inputs are automatically monitored from the mix or outs 1 & 2.

Hope this makes sense.
