I just replaced an old computer running windows 95 with a new Dell computer running windows XP home. I installed a sound blaster 512 card in addition to the integrated sound. My favorite Midi synthesizer program is Cybersound Studio 3.0. It ran well on the old computer but will not run on the new computer. I can install the program, but I keep getting the following error message when I try to start it: unidentified external error, open external Midi device failed, CTKEYBD. I also have Cakewalk Home Studio 8, and that program works fine.

Can anyone suggest how I can get the Cyberesound Studio program to work on windows XP?

Thank you.

I'm not familiar with that program but I'd go to the software manufacturer website and check with them to see why your getting the error and/or if they have a program update. Also run Windows Update for XP ASAP as you should do that anyway. If all else fails and the program has an issue running under XP (I've never had a problem here), right click on the program icon and choose properties. Under the compatability folder (if there is one for that program) you will see a box that says "run this program in compatability mode for." There you can choose to run it in a mode for Win95, 98 or what have you.
