sonar/reason recording problem

I can't get sonar to record my guitar without recording the reason tracks I have playing in the background. I want a track that has just my guitar on it, and I feel I'm entitled to one.

Need more information: how is your guitar plugged into your system?

What kind of mixer are you using (if at all)?

You may have created a loop where Reason is coming into your soundboard and then heading back out the main mix into your soundcard. I had this problem (using a Audiophile 24/96 and a Behringer 6 channel mixer). My audio output was coming into a channel in my mixer so I could hear it, and then the guitar was plugged into the mixer so that everything was heading out the mains into the soundcard.

if possible, send your guitar out an "aux send" channel, and have your soundcard output come into the mixer in another channel with the aux send "off".
