sys ex messages to modules

Can anyone tell me how to get sysex files (downloaded from the web) into the appropriate instrument. I use cubase/mac & have downloaded banks of DX7 patches. I can't work out how to get them from disc to keyboard. Do I need extra software? Thanks

all you should need to do is put them onto a sequencer track that's has it's output going to the respective keyboard. make sure to turn off sysex filtering and keep your sequencer tempo around 90bpm.

Have tried this but it doesn't show up in new track. Have also tried to import but cubase doesn't recognise .syx files.

Then you'll have to get some sort of editor/librarian - or possibly a freeware sysex dumper - you might try:
