I Am New To Recording Vst Instruments And I Need To Know If There Is A Simple Way To Do This. I Have Tried Doing It Via Midi But That Is A Pain In The Butt And I Still Can't Get Anything To Record. Is There A Way That I Can Just Play The Vst Instrument And It Record Like When You Plug In A Mike To The Computer And It Will Record Right Out Of The Box When You Press Record.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated
Any Tips Would Be Appreciated

Here is the way I do this(and I imagine everybody else does):
I record the VSTi take as a MIDI recording. Then I solo the midi track, or mute all other tracks, and bounce it down to audio. I usually save the bounce until the last minute before my CPU gives up so I can tweak as I see fit. If you really are so desperate to record straight to audio and bypass the middle stages the only way i can think of is to take a lead out of your soundcards output and plug it into its input. Be aware that unless you set the monitoring options right here you could get some nasty feedback loops going, and you will also record everything else coming out of the outputs, including click and backing tracks, so its hardly a desirable option. You are much better off recording the take as a MIDI part first - there are many more advantages to it.
