XV5080 Editor

I have downloaded a commercial editor for the XV 5080, from Soundtower. The help files are really skimpy and I have asked the website for some help. On their website, they hint that their editor for the XV 5080 will also edit other XV's.

Sooooooooooo, I was wondering it the official Roland XV5050 editor could be used to edit the XV 5080..... Anybody tried this?
