when I am tweaking the t404 effects my computer crashes. I have a pci512. Is this not good enough?

A Creative Sound Blaster pci512.

Its second only to the Sound Blaster Live and the Sound Blaster Audigy.

hmmm are you running lots of background programs? if so shut them off before using fruity loops. You also might want to clean and defrag your Hard drive as that can cause Fruity and other apps to crash.
