PSP Audio Ware's MixPack bundle has a plugin called MixTreble which is effective at reducing hiss without completely destroying the high frequency component of your sound source. I use it when recording from my Digitech Genesis 3 amp modeler which, with some of the amp models, generates a fair amount of noise (both hiss and buzz). MixTreble reduces this noise, but does not completely eliminate it.

Steinberg has a plugin called denoiser. Works very well at mild to moderate settings.
