Does anyone know of a low cost or free tool to convert .wav files into .rex files for use in reason? Or how about chasing Reason to Acid Pro3.0? I compose in both apps and need a more efficient way of using them together. I'm not interested in big full blown apps, I want to keep this one as simple (and cheap) as possible. Thanks in advance.

The only app that I know of to change wav to rex is Recycle. It lists for $149, I believe - it does alot more than change wav to rex, too...

I have recycle. It's a no brainer must buy for any Reason owner. It'd be swell if they just packaged the 2 together at a discount.

There is one, believe it or not.. It's Phat something or other. Another option is to procure an old Sound Blaster card. They packaged a Recycle "Lite" with it along with Cubasis and some other stuff. I'm sure you could find one on ebay for $30 bucks.

Thanks for the help folks. I do believe recycle is in order to do this. If I had more than one PC, chasing reason to acid would be sweet. It's always nice to dream http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

Are you thinking of Bitshift Audio's pHATmatik and pHATmatik Pro...? Both are great, but neither will let you convert a WAV to a REX. As far as REX2 files: Propellerheads have a license stranglehold on that, so you'd need ReCycle2 to make those.
