hello,
i m a new member on the block,
well!it is quite professional sounding forum so i feel a little afraid of putting up a stupid query.
i wanna record audio tapes into my pc(from a cassette player or walkman) and then do something to wash away unwanted destortion and making it sound better and clear than before.(what r the requirements for the pc (suppose it is p2(used) or p3 (may b new ) plus what about space on the pc and the quality of the sound card) please
tell me the solutions in details please

also how to record it out of the pc into a deeck.
(what type of softwares available (and most probably the free down loads available.....)

please keep in mind my not-so-rich resources and
not-so-professional knowledge.

in a fix

Do you mean how to record from the PC onto an audio cassette?

The easiest way is to hook the outs from your soundcard to the "Line In" or "Aux In" on a stereo (many stereos have this feature, but some don't). In that case, any software that will play your file (say, Winamp) will do fine. Just select "Line In" or "Aux In" or "Video", in some cases, or even "CD In" if it's only a tape deck, setting on your stereo, make sure the sound from the PC is coming through the speakers, hit record on the tape deck, then press play on whatever program you're using on the computer.
