I am considering buying a VIA KT600 based motherboard, and use a M-Audio Delta 1010 (Envy24) in conjunction with this.

Has anyone had experience with a similar setup?

Stable?

I've heard too many negative effects of Via coupled with M Audio. I'd go nForce2 on this one.

This board as well as KT400 boards actually works quite good with current PCI M-Audio stuff but nForce 2 is faster, but picky about ram especially under dual channel mode.
Right now, there's little reason to use any other chipset board other than the nforce 2 for AMD unless you're on a really tight budget.

While I agree the nForce2 is slightly faster than the KT600 benchmark-wise, it's still plenty fast for audio.

The differences aren't nearly as staggering as they once were.

Yea it's pretty close in terms of performance but since it is still a bit faster and he hasn't bought the mobo yet and the price difference is negligable..might as well go nforce2 : )

Well, some of the nForce2 boards feature a NIC controller that has no free (as in: no source, no specifications either) drivers for GNU/Linux. I will mainly use GNU/Linux, and partly for hard disk recording too (Ardour), so I need a motherboard that is fully supported.
