Hmmmm.....Well just for the pure fun of it I released a compilation of tunes I had kicking around for years ( written before '97 ) These were recorded years ago, all tracks were done at home, during a period from '90 - '96. A few years ago I mixed what I could salvage, using an O2r and a pair of Mackie HR824's ( and believe me some of the tracks were recorded very poorly!!.. ) and put the project up on MP3.com. I'm not looking for a mix critique, ( they are just demos ) just thought some of you would be into guitar instrumental stuff!!!....
Give a listen... www.mp3.com/melanhead (http://www.mp3.com/melanhead)

Holy!!!!
This is my first post to this awesome forum and I'm listenning to you RAPE your guitar. It's very encouraging to hear that this kind of production is done my a member. I'm a big fan of Vai, and with all honesty, you come pretty close!
Great work!!!

Cheers,

Sounded awesome! Great stuff, really. Just woundering what kind of amp did you use to record? Did you use one of the Digital Roland VG-88?

Musically not really my bag these days, but I know talent when I hear it, and Bob you kick ass! If I heard this a few years back I would have gone nuts for it, but unfortunately I can't listen to guitar solos for long these days http://www.audioforums.com/forums/biggrin.gif Even so, I happily sat through 3 tracks. Production values are pretty damn high too, especially some of the guitar sounds. Very well done!

Hmmm...It's been awhile since I've been here!!!... I've been busy writing and learning Cubase SX. Thanks for listening and the encouragement...Michael I know what you mean...I don't listen to much Instrumental Guitar stuff either...heard it all before!!..These tunes are up to ten years old!... My new stuff will be much more textured, sort of like instrumental Peter Gabriel!... I'll still pull out the flash ' cause it's fun but want to experiment with new sounds...Manni...amps!...well where do I start. Most of the solo's are a Mesa Boogie 22+ Caliber. I also used a 78 Marshall head, a heavily modded '82 Marshall head, a Soldano HotRod 50 head, Soldano SP77 preamp a 70's Fender Vibrolux and a head I made myself called " The Melanhead " Most of the guitar tracks were recorded at home.

Thanks again for listening...I'm almost finished a new tune and only 9 or ten more to go...maybe another 10 years or so...

Bob...
