I need some tips on live reverb sound.

Which plugins have the best reverb?

If you mean "live" as in sounding realistic, I'd highly recommend the "acoustic mirror" plugin bundled with Sound Forge 5.0. It is a modeling (or convolving) plugin that uses actual recorded impulse files to make natural reverberation sounds. Of course you'll likely receive tons of opinions on such a subjective topic http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

Zero in my opinon reverb is one of the most critical effects next to compression. This is especially true if you do a lot of vocals.

Personally I would not put my trust in plugins for reverb and spend your money on a real outboard reverb unit.

That's how I felt until I tried the Sonic Timeworks ReverbX after which I sold my hardware Lexicons.

Then I got the TC Powercore with its M5000 MegaVerb and now I'm in reverb heaven :)

Maybe I'm an ancient one, but I still love the sound I get from aiming an 8" mid-range speaker at a 3x3 foot sheet of spring-mounted stainless steel with a BB acoustic guitar pickup mounted at 12 o'clock with some elmer's glue. (I know I know - don't kick me yet) - still a great home-made 'plate-verb easily tweaked wif a standard 10band EQ... (Ouch! OK OK..lol)

We use plug-in reverbs all the time and have had nothing but good response to our work - even going so far as to have one of our artists as Keyboard Mags 'Unsigned Artist of the Month'.

Don't discount them too quickly - it's not always the tools, it's how you use them that counts the most...

for hardware I like the TC it's very real
sounding but the lexicon's are more
musical as for plug-ins i like waves and
ultafunk also the acousic mirror is cool
to.
