I'm looking for basic drum loops with fills associated with each kit [Like an Alesis SR16 drum machine] Everything I find has lots of great beats but few fills and what fills there are don't seem to have any association. All suggestions greatfully received.

Get a ton of one hits and use fruity loops, that's been a real blessing to my set up.

some examples there for fruity / acid 3.0 pro in use.

I guess it depends on what kind of drum loops you are looking for. If you want some excellent versatile and real sounding drum loops in many different rock, pop & country styles, that are relatively inexpensive ($49.95), try Drums on Demand. They come in many different formats (in 16 bit or 24 bit, Acidized WAV or REX2) I have both DOD volumes I & II (ACIDized in 24 bit) and they are some of the best rock, pop & country drum loops you will find and are very easy to use because they took the time to actually break the loops down into easily recognizible feel & tempo folders and loop naming scheme. Like one folder is called:

087 BPM (Slow & Punchy)

Inside the folder are loops divided into actual song sections that songwriters and musicians can understand:

Intro
Alt Intro
Intro Crash
Verse 1
Verse 2
Verse rim
Alt Verse 1
Alt Verse 2
Verse Fill 1
Alt Verse 1
Bridge
Bridge Fill 1
Bridge Fill 2
Chorus 1
Chorus Ride Crash
Alt Chorus
Chorus Fill 1
Chorus Fill 2
Fill 1
Fill 2
Ending
Alt Ending

Of course you can edit these loops, however you wish to fit your song as needed. Some have as many as 36 different song segments to use in each song set. Over 800 individual loops on each CD (no filler).

There are more than 35 different song sets on each CDROM, in different tempos and feels. Check out some of the Songs DOD users have submitted using these loops, on the DOD (Community) forum. Great stuff, many DOD users use apps like ACID and SONAR to create their arrangements. I use both DOD volumes I & II (24 BIT) in ACID 4 and SONAR 3 all the time. They are my favorite drum loop CD's right now. The drum loop song sets have excellent overall tonal balance that are not overly processed and fit great, in a mix. I tried many acoustic drum loop libraries over the years and these (DOD Volume's I & II) are some of the best. They have also been getting a lot of rave reviews lately, so if you are into acoustic drum loops for rock, pop & country, these can't be beat.

I second the drums on demand advice. I really like the natural drums and the ability to change tempo. The recording is really good and I don't have the headache of mixing drums, its done. Customer support is good as well. I actually bought both versions 1 and 2 and have not looked back.
