recording a live second track into ACID

I'm new at ACID and i have what might be a very naive question. I have a track that i've recorded live into Track 1. Now, i want to create a Track 2 and record another live loop into that second track.

However, i don't see in the help or anything how i can create an empty second track and then, record live audio into it. Can i do this or do i need to record the live audio into another application, turn it into an audio file and import it into ACID?

It will automatically create the track as you record. I do it all the time. I use drum loops and other loops and then I creat my bass and keyboard loops by recording them.
