Has anyone heard of recent troubles with Sonic Foundry? There were some news reports that the company was in financial trouble and I'm a little wearry of purchasing products from them if that is the case. Anyone out there have any new info on the subjet????

Check The Acid forums on the Sonic Foundry site. Most feel the apps will continue no matter what. I for one am going to get what I need in case the company goes under. It's great software for what I do.
There are about an hour from me and they are in a serious cash flow problem. They have been trying hard with new updates. One of the problems is the people taking it off kazza and people copying the software.
Anybody working with a demo or a kazza version should buy it so they keep going.
Someone will most likely take over if they go under but I doubt they will do as good a job.

Seems like they kind of lost their focus there for a while, discontinued CD Architect & seemed to be putting lots into consumer versions of Acid and Video Factory and what-not on the shelves at Best Buy, next to Magix and Voyetra. Crowded market with slim margins. They seem like they're back at the pro/semi-pro market again. Hopefully that will be more profitable. I'm learning to love Vegas as a single app for audio and video production, like Adobe Premiere and Cool Edit Pro all in one interface.
