Is there an overwrite function in Vegas Audio? ('casue I can't find one)
or can I combine two tracks into one?

Also, how do I do punch in and punch out here?
Also, I can't find any quantize function

I'm not sure what you mean about overwrite, so I can't help you there, but as far as punching in and out, I just record a new track starting where I need and then move it up into the track I need it in. This may be the easier way or harder way. I'm not sure, but it's easy for me. And as far as I know, you can't quantize audio. There is no quantize function in Vegas that I know of. Quantize is something usually used with MIDI or triggering samples, neither of which is in Vegas. If you record a drumbeat and put it into Vegas, it's the way it is after that. Does that make sense? It can't be quanitized because it's just a wav file. However, ACID does have a thing called the Beatmapper that will kind of quantize. It's not the same thing, but it does achieve a similar result. You determine where the downbeats are supposed to be and it kind of stretches and adjusts, without affecting pitch or sound. The few times I've used it, it worked rather well. This may be the only thing you can do. There is another app out there that does the same thing. I believe it's called ableton live. I think that is the one. I hope this was helpful instead of more confusing. Good luck.

I'm not sure what u mean overwrite, but I think you mean u want to combine tracks. Simply turn on the tracks u want combined, and turn of the others. Then from the tools menu select "mix audio to new track" or something like that, then walla.

Also to punch a track in, arm that track to record, select the loop funcion rigth next to your record button. Then highlight the area u want to record in. Set your marker back as far as u'd like for pre-roll and hit record. it will record only in the area u have highlighted, it will also loop back and keep recording more takes in that area until u hit stop.

This is kinda vague because I'm not in the studio right now, but if u want me to spell it out better just say so and I'll write it out next time I'm in the studio.
