If I drag the cursor too fast to set up a region, my SF5 and Vegas LE crashes. I've got the latest driver for my USB soundcard, and I've messed with the read-ahead setting for the hard drive and speed for the graphics card. This problem started after my son installed a Civilization game. I've uninstalled that game and reinstalled SF5 to no avail.
Any ideas?
thanks

My suspicion is that perhaps the Civilization installer might have installed an older version of DirectX on top of a newer version and befouled it...
Some of those installers don't bother to look and see if they need to install DirectX or not, they display a dialog box suggesting that they need to install it, and if your son didn't know better and clicked "OK," I could see that happening... (that's why I won't let my kids install anything on my box...)

Thanks for the tip -- I tried installing the newest version of directX (8.2 i think) and so far no freezes.
