Hi!
How do I sync Acid and reason together? I've installed midiyoke and done some settings in the preferences in reason and acid, but when I hit play in acid I get an error message:
An error occured while starting playback.
An unsupported media type was requested.
I didn't get that before installing midiyoke etc....
thanx

I got it now! I installed hubi's loopback device instead. Do the following (after you've installed hubi's):
In reason:
* Make sure that the midi clock sync (under advance midi, in reason) is set to LB1 (LB1 is a virtual port created by hubi's)
, since this is the port acid is sending it on.
* Activate "enable", "midi", and "play" in the transport panel.
In acid:
* Under preferences->midi, select lb1
* Under preferences->sync, choose LB1 as output device.
* Make sure to tell acid to transmit midi clock by right clicking the time bar(upper left, above the tracks). acid does not automatically transmit the clock, so you have to tell it to do so.
Good luck!

OK Johed. You are the man. I just downloaded this shareware utility called Hubi. I will install and use your config settings. If this all works, I owe you a fruit basket or something http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

Johed- I got sync. BUT....I can't get sound to come out of reason. Just for simplicity, I'm using a soundblaster card on this test machine. My main has a Midiman delta. Can you give me your sound driver settings for Reason Audio page? Thank you so much!

Well, I got a delta audiophile soundcard. In reason I've chosen the driver "ASIO M Audio Delta ASIO", sample rate: 44100, wich gives a latency of 24ms (I can have faster here but then I get trouble with big songs). Channels: Analog 1/2 Delta-AP....
And I have selected "Play in Background".
Hope this helps!

Johed, thank you very much for all of your help but I give up. Everytime I press play in Acid I get the error that states Device is already in use. I'll make one last attempt tonight by upgrading my Delta drivers to the newest ASIO drivers. Thanks again my friend.

I remembered something, in acid you should do some audio settings:
preferences->audio->advanced
playback: WavOut 1/2 Delta-ap
record: PCM In 1/2 Delta-ap
That might help if you have an audiophile card.

You can use the Sonic Foundry Midi Router to trigger. Install it from the Acid CD and set it as a midi device.

Johed- It's done. It works now. I upgraded my delta drivers to the new Asio ones. Now both apps sync and play at the same time. Very cool!
Entrap-Sonic Foundry Midi Router to trigger? I just got done exploring the Acid 3.0 factory CD and there is no such extra add on as far as I can see. Perhaps I am missing something. Can you clarify where it is?
