Iīve been making a drum pattern with samples and loops in ACID. I was really pleased with the sound so I did "Mix to new track" and imported the audio-file to SoundForge 5.0 and played around a little. I was still very pleased with the sound until I imported the audio-file into PTLE. The sound changed and PTLE converted the Stereo audio-file into 2x mono and opened it up in a stereo track. The sound is now awful and sometimes sounds with a "Flanger" effect. What am I doing wrong???

Okay bit of science.
The stereo file has been conerted as you say into two mono signals. When your mix was a single stereo file it was panned left and right. Now it is in protoolsLE its panned both channels to the centre. This is a good thing for flexability as you'll see in the future. Pan each of the tracks to opposing sides and you'll find your mix will return to how it sounded before. If it sounds like its flanging, then your mix is not particularly phase coherent, or you've accidently moved one of the channels by a very small amount. FX in soundforge and the like may not always maintain the integrity phase wise of your mix, so be careful. There ya go, a few things to check

Hi, thank you for your answer. The converted stereo-file IS panned to left and right in Pro Tools, thatīs why its so strange. Isnīt there a possibility to save the files in Acid/SoundForge as split stereo so that Pro Tools doesnīt have to convert anything?
