ProTools latency on iMac w/POD

I just started learning digital recording on my iMac. I am using DigiDesign's Pro Tools Free with OMS. I run my guitar through the POD into the built-in 1/8" sound jack via RadioShack mono/stereo adaptors. There's a delay between when I play & when I hear it come out of my computer. How do I adjust this so they synch up right?

Mute the recording track unmute your systems line-in and/or mic-in so the sound goes straight to your speakers. It'll still be recording, it's just the playback in protools that has latency. I assume mac has an unmute for it's inputs somewhere like windows.
