Help - Advice needed about installation of STEINBERG CUBASE VST/24 v4.0.0 with the Digi 001 on
Apple G4 (350) with PTLE 5.0.1, LAP 4.7 (DIRECT I/O 5.1) PCI Digi 001 plus 2 SCSI hard drives (9.5Gb & 18Gb).
NB No external audio mixer available or MIDI IN/OUT, just Digi 001.

Installed Cubase VST, it's running OK, plays audio through Sound Control Manager set to Internal but NOT Digidesign (Digi001).
MIDI In and Out with OMS runs OK, I monitor audio from MIDI (modest Yamaha MU10) through the Digi 001.
Tried moving ASIO Driver to System / Preferences then read documentation, should the ASIO Driver stay in ASIO Drivers folder inside Cubase folder?
When installing, Norton AnitVirus reported that the Digi INIT file was being updated, should this have happened with the Cubase install? (I ran PTLE to see if it was still OK and it was, phew, although I'd halted the install to make a back up of the unCubased Digi INIT.)
Does Cubase VST 24 sit comfortably with the Digi 001?
If yes what do I still need to do?
Any other comments feedback?

You may be wondering why I want to run PTLE, LAP and Cubase! Mad really, but I'm working on material that musicans have developed using these softwares and want to avoid importing and exporting so session, song etc can be copied back onto clients machines (laptops mainly) after being edited, produced etc here.

Presently also helping out with a project that works with severely handicapped children using MIDI triggers to produce musical works with their Cubase etc. We've got a concert in 2 days time, so help soon if you can. Thanks.

I'm no expert on this but, I've noticed that Cubase 5 and Cubasis [cubase lite] won't coexist on the same machine. If you start either, you get a "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" message. I know because I installed both so I could use the rudimentary drum machine in Cubasis and was greeted by that all too unpopular Windows message. There you go, if it helps. Good luck. Maybe separate partitions?
