Running PT 5.0.1 under MacOS 8.1

Hello all. Just wondering if anyone has given this a try. I know the recommended OS is 8.6 and above; I've currently got 4.3.1 running great, but can't take advantage of the 24-bit input unless I go to v.5

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, system is PPC6400/200mhz 136mb

Is anyone running PT 5.0.1 on MacOS? I thought this would have had at least one response by now

I haven't run PT 5.0.1 on anything earlier than OS 9.0.4 and currently OS 9.1 and everything is nominal. If you've got a G3 or better I recommend the upgrade. 9.1 is the most stable OS I've used since, well...OS 8.6. I am quite happy with the upgrade though. Sorry I can't be more help.

Oh yeah...unless you've got a third party I/O card you won't get 24 bit sound anyway. Apple internal is limited to 16 bit/44.1k these days. Seeing your model number perhaps you should stay with OS 8.6. Nevermind what thet guy just above said - I know him and he's as wacky as they come.
