need help enabling EXS24

I purchased Logic Platinum 5.5 with the EXS24MKII sampler on eBay. The software has been registered, and my XSkey Autorization file under Logic Help shows that the EXS24MKII is authorized for use. However, when I try to access the sampler from the audio menu, it is gray. It is my understanding that you can also access it through the Audio Environment window as well. How can I get this to work? I need to use the EXS24 sampler in accordance with Midi mapping, so any help would be much appreciated.

What do you mean by accessing it through the audio menu? You access it through Logics mixer on the track you want to put it or in the relevant page in the enviroment. There's a slot at the bottom where you choose which input the audio instrument object should have. Click it and choose.

I might have gotten you wrong, 'cause this seems like a strange question from someone owning a manual, so feel free to correct me.
