help, i cant get my patches to change...im a newbie

hey guys. i cant seem to get anything that has anything to do with patch changes, or volume or panning...things like that to work on my synths.

am i doin somethng wrong here?

When you select a midi instrument there should be a grey box over on the left side that allows you to select program changes, volume, panning etc. Next to each of those parameters is a box - it needs to be checked for those parameters to work.
