latency in 4.81

hi,i've just started using logic 4.81 so i can rewire it to reason and record audio,and i'm having huge latency problems, about 1 second delay from me playing a note to hearing it.i've tried going back to 4.0 and it still works fine in that.the audio driver setup in 4.81 looks quite different to 4.0 and there's no mention of my sb platinum live soundcard, just easi mme and easi direct sound.

does anybody know how i can sort out this latency problem?cheers for any help

I am haveing the same problem and I was wondersing if you have solved the problem. My computer has SB Live! and windows 2000 with LAG 4.8.1. I am experiencing alots of delays (Latency).

i managed to near-enough fix it...goto the audio menu and select the audio driver page.then tick "off" next to the first software monitoring box.i think it just means u don't hear ths plugins on audio during record.u hear them all normally in playback...
