I'm new to digital recording. I'm on Mac G4, 533, 1 gig RAM. I'm about to plunk down some serious hard-earned dough (for me at least) on software and hardware. I've got things narrowed down to Logic Platinum, but I'm still undecided about Audio and MIDI input/output hardware.

I don't know, but it's my impression from reading other posts and reviews that MOTU makes better hardware than Emagic, but Emagic makes the best software. Is that the general consensus or am I mistaken?

Has anyone had any experience or problems using Logic Platinum with MOTU 828 and MOTU Micro Express USB (This is the combo I'm leaning towards)? Any other combos working particularly well?

Thanks for any info or advice!

Brent

I run eMagic Plat on an 828 interface. Everything works great. The only "problem" I have had is using the Logic manual. It's about 4" thick so one would think it is inclusive and well written... NOT!

Other than learning the software I love the results. Recorded my voice the other night and it sounds great! Nice full and clear.

Good luck learning the Platinum however...the only thing I found which helps is to sit down and work in the program as you read.
