Funny - last time there was an anouncement due from samdev the NG went down too - according to Volker it was a coincidence - routine maintainance or such.

that's what worries me...grapevine from a contact with a national music equip retailer called today, and suggested he "heard" from various sources that Samp was in some serious jeopardy...
I am just hoping this is a self-feeding rumor, not based on anything except paranoia.

Damn. I don't like rumors like that. I think I'll choose not to get upset until I hear something concrete. Yeah, that's it. I'm not listening I'm not listening I'm not listening la la la la la...

FWIW, The SEKD NG is neither owned nor moderated by Magix. From what I recall, it's run by the chap who used to be the US distributor for Sampl & Sequoia
So in the absence of concrete dreadful news, I'm not going to get paranoid.

Ah fear not http://www.audioforums.com/forums/wink.gif There is a new "Samplitude only" forum comming up soon. This week probably. But then, I see why you like the news group... with all those key persons popping by. Anyway, I expect the forum up and running very soon. Stay tuned for the official opening date http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

Hello Martin
Yes. Working with those old recordings certainly brings back memories. I travelled to Darjeeling, Kalimpong & Sikkim with an old friend, Francesca Fremantle (who writes books on Buddhist topics). It was pretty wet there, monsoon, but nonetheless there were incredible vistas of the high Himalaya. And we met some remarkable people.

The new forum will open the 30th of August 12 o'clock mid european time. Looking forward to see some of you there.
It will be different from audioforums.com in the way, that it is not cross-platform. It is samplitude only. So for putting up software against each other audioforums.com will still be a much better place to go, but the new forum at www.kuhrt.dk/samplitude (http://www.kuhrt.dk/samplitude) will by the opening have categories and subfora, that are all custom made for the specific program, that Samplitude is.
So I am not trying to make something better, that allready exist. I just do not like the (in my eyes a bit chaotic) structure of the official newsgroup, and therefor I will offer this alternative.
