Diminshed, it is a small button beside the fader. I am at work right now so I can't give you the exact location. You can also click on the Auto buttons in the tracks window and do your automation from there. You know, the standard line (yellow in Samp) for volume changes. I used the automated feature when I first got Samp, but the more I use Samp, the less I use that feature. I tend to just make a particular area an Object, and then adjust that Object as required (i.e. level, pan, EQ, effects, fade, etc.) I find this way easier and quicker. The only time I ever use the automated volume is if I need a section to gradually rise or lower in volume. It would be nice if Samp allowed automated tweeking for EQ though.

Check your manual, it is all covered in there.

THANKS TIM,got it,its the (auto on) button on the default mixer and the A button on the multimixer.that is great, now i am even more eccited with samp.

TIM,which mixer you have been using on the samp software?i've been using the multitrack mixer for a while its great,i can see all my 23 tracks and busses if needed on one screen.that was good move from samp and the skin guys for the multitrack mixers.give us more guys if you can.not that its not good enough.the only thing woud have been nice on the multitrack mixers the eq's with real eq buttons like the default one.but i guess they need space for that.anyhow its great as it is and since i recently needed the automation,i am a happier camper now.

thanks a lot TIM.

btw,nice detailed big manual ha?

Cool, glad you got it figured out. I have been using the Custom_digi mixer the most lately. I like the meters better, and it gives me more tracks in one view. I have the mixer, transport and visualisation on one monitor, and the tracks window on the other monitor. Love it http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

Have you downloaded all the available skins?

Tim

Not sure if I will be able to explain it properly, as I don't totally understand it all myself. Martin if you're around, please come in and explain it for Diminished.

Anyway, it has something to do with duplicate .dll files being in the Samplitude directory and the windows system 32 directory, and Samp has trouble determining which ones to associate with. Martin has developed a small batch file to remove these files and place them in a back-up folder. Once you run this batch file you then go to the Magix download site and get the latest CDR patches for Samp. Once I did that last night, all of the sudden CD burning worked properly. Prior to that, I could burn, but only at about 8x max. Now I can burn at 24x and up http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

Best if you go to the Samp news group and get the info and batch file there. Martin has posted it there for download.

Good luck

Tim

Ok, well I guess my question will illustrate my ignorance with out my pre-qualifying my statement, so, here it is.

I have Samplitude Pro 6.0, what is the advantage of using the automated mixer function? I use the WAVs and just draw in the volume and panning, and if I want to change the eq of a part I just turn it in to a new object and eq it that way. Is there a better way to do it? Please explaine

Thanks

Don't know if there is any advantage, other than offering the user more ways to accomplish a task...I prefer using the object and x-fade editors, others prefer the mixer, while some others use the vol/pan lines....

Seems its just what you feel comfortable with, given all control options being equal for the task at hand.
